Mezun Oldu, TÜBİTAK’ta Çalışıyor I Graduated & Got a Job at TÜBİTAK
Mezun olduktan sonraki süreçte savunma sanayiinde Ar-Ge alanında çalışmayı hedefleyen Mehmet Ziya Keskin, bu alanda faaliyet gösteren 3 firmaya başvuruda bulundu ancak TÜBİTAK’ı tercih etti.
İLTAREN’de önce aday mühendis sonra da tam zamanlı çalışmaya başlayan Keskin, AGÜ mezunu olmanın ve aldığı % 100 İngilizce eğitimin iş hayatına girerken kendisine yaptığı katkıyı şöyle ifade etti:
“AGÜ yetkin akademisyenleri ve yenilikçi, küresel seviyedeki eğitimiyle kalburüstü bir üniversite ve bu durum endüstride de tanınmakta, bunların benim için bir avantaj olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Hem yurt dışı tecrübesi, hem de %100 İngilizce eğitimin verdiği özgüven ile iş görüşmelerim daha olumlu geçti. Ayrıca, iyi derecedeki İngilizce bilgisi kuruma adaptasyonumu hızlandırdı.”
Üniversitedeki hocalarının kendisine çok yardımcı olduğunu belirten ve hepsine teşekkür eden Mehmet Ziya Keskin, mezun olacak öğrencilere ise şu tavsiyede bulundu:
“Çalışmaya okul ile paralel ve çıkar beklemeden başlamalarını ve bu çalışmaları ciddi seviyelere getirmelerini tavsiye ederim.”
Keskin, savunma sanayinde çalışmayı sürdürüp, hedeflediği alanda da lisansüstü eğitimine devam etmek istediğini sözlerine ekledi.
Mehmet Ziya Keskin aimed at doing R&D related work for the defense industry after his graduation. Among the 3 companies he applied for, he chose TÜBİTAK.
Being as a candidate engineer at İLTAREN, Keskin earned his full-time status there. He expressed advantages of being an AGU alumnus and getting an English-medium education in the employment process as follows:
"AGU is a select university with its competent faculty and innovative, world-class education, and this status is recognized in the industry. I can say that these facts were advantageous for me. My job interviews were very positive as I was self-confident thanks to my overseas experience and English-medium education. My advanced command of English also helped me adapt to the institution faster."
Mehmet Ziya Keskin said his instructors at the university were very helpful and expressed his gratitude for that. He shared the following advice with future graduates:
"I recommend them to start working while studying and without expecting any compensations and to take their work seriously."
Keskin added that he would continue working for the defense industry and apply for a master's program relevant to his sector.
