Daha Mezun Olmadan İrlanda’da İşe Yerleşti I Before Graduation, He Got a Job in Ireland
Şirketin İrlanda ofisinde çalışan Sarıca, AGÜ’nün, kendisine öğrenciliği süresince yurtdışındaki kurumlar ile çeşitli projeler yapma olanak sağladığını bu sayede de yurtdışında uluslararası bir şirkette çalışma imkanı bulduğunu söyledi.
Ürün teknisyeni olarak çalışan Ömer Sarıca iş bulma sürecini şöyle anlattı:
“Mezun olmadan yaklaşık bir yıl önce hangi alanda çalışmak istediğime dair fikrim oluşmuştu. İlgi duyduğum alana yönelik sektörü bir süre takip ettikten sonra, yurtiçi ve yurtdışında çeşitli firmalar ile görüşmeye başladım. Bu süreç mezun olmadan yaklaşık 4 ay önce başladı. Bir çok görüşmenin ardından, mezuniyete son 2 ay kala hangi firma ile çalışacağım kesinleşti.”
Sarıca, öğrenciliğinin son döneminde, Türkiye ve Hollanda merkezli firmalar ile de görüşmekte olduğunu ancak İrlanda’daki projeyi daha güncel ve ilgi çekici bulduğu için Allianz Partners firmasını tercih ettiğini söyledi.
Ömer Sarıca mezun olacak öğrencilere şu tavsiyede bulundu: “Başarı ve mutluluğun bireyin sevdiği alanda çalışmasından kaynaklandığını söyleyebilirim. Steve Jobs’un da dediği gibi ‘Başarılı olan insanlar genellikle sevdikleri işi yapanlardır ki böylece işler kötüye gittiğinde işlerine devam edebilirler.”
Working at the Irish office of the company, Sarıca said, during his study AGU offered various opportunities to engage in projects with institutions abroad, which enabled him to work at an international company abroad.
Ömer Sarıca, now a product technician, talked about how he was employed:
"I made up my mind about where I wanted to work one year before graduation. After collecting information on the sector I was interested in for some time, I started to get in touch with local and overseas companies. This process began about 4 months before graduation. After many interviews, I knew where I would work two months before the graduation.”
Sarıca stated that he was also interviewed by companies based in Turkey and Netherlands, but he preferred Allianz Partners as the project in Ireland was more current and interesting for him.
He delivered the following advice to potentials graduates: "I can tell you that success and happiness stem from working in the area you love. Just like Steve Jobs said, 'If you really look at the ones that ended up, you know, being “successful” in the eyes of society and the ones that didn’t, oftentimes, it’s the ones who were successful and loved what they did so they could persevere, you know, when it got really tough.'
